My ABC Poem

Here is my ABC poem about anything.  I have been working on this poem for a long time.  I used a dictionary to help me with the last few bits.  I think my poem is very good and Mrs Hughes agrees.  I liked writing this poem because it was my first time.

Apple's falling from the sky.

Bowling to the batter.

Car's racing.

Duck quacking.

Enderman killing us.

Fish are slimy.

Gold fish swimming around.

Hunting in the bush.

I love minecraft.

Jo k play some minecraft

Kites are flying

Look at the giant zombie.   

Mine the diamond.

Nuclear bomb.

Octopus are swimming around and around

People are kyaking

Queen in minecraft

Rocking the look.

Skeleton with an enchanted bow.

Tnt stack by stack.

Umbrella flying in the air

Vibration earthquake

Wow chocolate.

Yay I just got minecraft.

My New Maths Goal

Today I achieved to get a new maths goal. My old maths goal was skip counting backwards from 100 in 2, 5, and 10. I worked hard on it and I feel happy. My new goal is to learn how to round up and back. Mrs O says there are experts in HQ who will show me how to do it.

My Student Led Conference

On Tuesday I did my student led conference. I was dying to show Mum, Dad and Cannon my maths and Te Ara Tika book because I like Te Ara Tika and maths. In this photo I am showing them my writing goals. I felt shy and scared just near the beginning. Mum, Dad and Cannon thought I did well.

Slater shared his writing during authors chair today.  He planned his story in an interesting way...by using a PMI chart.

My reading goals

I need to read clearly, and change my voice to make it interesting.

I need to stop at full stops.

I need to take a little breath at commas.

My writing goal

Slater is going to start his work quickly and concentrate for the whole time in order to be able to write four or more sentences.  He will use his ideas bank to make fast choice on what to write about.  Slater likes to write on the computer some times.  He will choose quiet spaces to do his writing.  He will work hard to reach the second tier so he can work in the quiet capsule.

Eggs, eggs, eggs

Yesterday Slater's dad found a nest outside one of the trees at his home.  Two of the eggs have hatched but two of them haven't.  The eggs are white and brown with little black dots.  Slater found a sparrow feather in the nest.  We think the eggs are sparrow eggs.

We might need to check on google and go to the library to check the eggs do belong to sparrows.
